Block no. 1 · The Schoolhouse

Every roof
is a pieced thing.

Triangles are pitches. Squares are shingles. The seams are where the water tries to get in.

Ozark quilters knew it long before anybody sold a roof: a thing built from small parts only lasts if every part is cut true and every seam is sewn tight. That is how we roof. Flashing, underlayment, valleys, ridge. One square at a time, no square skipped.

Six blocks we sew every week

What we do

Residential and commercial. Hover or tap a block to re-piece it.

  1. Residential roofs

Shingle roofs for houses around NWA. Tear-off, decking checks, underlayment, flashing, ridge. Built to shed an Ozark spring.

    Block: Flying Geese

  2. Metal roofs

Metal panels for homes, shops and barns. Straight seams, sealed fasteners, trim that looks like it belongs there.

    Block: Rail Fence

  3. Commercial & flat roofs

Low-slope and flat roofs for storefronts, offices and warehouses. Drainage first, then the membrane, then the details.

    Block: Nine Patch

  4. Storm & hail inspection

After a hailstorm rolls through, we get on the roof, look close, and tell you plainly what we find. Damage or no damage.

    Block: Storm at Sea

  5. Insurance claim help

Photos, measurements and written notes on the damage, organized the way an insurance company asks for them. You stay in charge of your claim.

    Block: Log Cabin

  6. Repairs & leaks

Missing shingles, lifted flashing, a drip in the kitchen ceiling. We find where the water is really coming from and fix that.

    Block: Monkey Wrench

When the hail comes over the ridge

Woodcut: a calm evening, a house on an Ozark hill, birds overhead.
Woodcut: a towering thunderhead rolls over the hills, wind bending a tree.
Woodcut: lightning and hail hammer the roof of the house.
Woodcut: morning after the storm, a roofer on the ladder laying new shingles as the sun rises.
  1. I.

    Evening on the ridge.

Northwest Arkansas spring. Warm air off the plains, cool air off the hills. It looks like nothing until it does.

  2. II.

It builds out west, then comes on fast.

The cloud stacks up, the wind turns the oaks inside out. If you can, get the car in the garage. Then let the storm do what it does.

  3. III.

    Hail on the shingles.

Hail can bruise a roof without leaving a hole. Granules get knocked loose, mats crack, seals break. You often cannot see it from the yard.

  4. IV.

    Morning. Call us.

We come out, get on the roof and document what the storm did. Then we fix it right.

After a storm, here is how we help

  1. Free estimate. We walk the roof, not just the driveway.
  2. Straight answer. If the damage is not worth a claim, we tell you so.
  3. Paperwork that holds up. Dated photos, measurements and notes, ready to hand to your insurance company.
  4. Help with the process. We explain what the documentation shows and answer questions along the way. The claim stays yours.
  5. The repair, done right. Same crew, same standards, no shortcuts.
